BMW Vehicle Distribution Center Tour

Date/Time:

Jun 3, 2016
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The BMW CCA Houston Chapter has been invited to tour the new BMW Group Vehicle Distribution Center at the Port of Galveston. This event will occur on June 3 from 10 am to 12 noon. BMW is expanding its vehicle distribution network to southeastern Texas to better serve the 45 BMW and MINI dealers within the four states (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas) which make up a part of the Southern Region.

The facility will be owned and operated by WWL Vehicle Services Americas under BMW Group on-site management. WWL Vehicle Service Americas is a leading global provider of auto processing and outbound vehicle logistics services.

Once the Galveston Vehicle Distribution Center is fully operational in 2016, the BMW Group plans to import and process approximately 32,500 vehicles annually with a workforce of 40 BMW Group and WWL Vehicle Services Americas employees. The facility includes over 44,000 square feet of processing space in two buildings on approximately 20 acres of land. Vehicle inspection, repairs (mechanical and Paint and Body), accessory installation, vehicle programming and vehicle maintenance and storage will be performed there.

Attendance at this event is limited to 25 people and will be on a first serve, first come basis. Further communication will be forthcoming to identify the meeting point and an optional lunch after the tour. If you always wondered where your new “baby” comes from, now is your chance! We hope to see you there.
